BRASIL99
Brasil 99 is a story I’ve always wanted to tell. It reflects a constant search for the unknown, unconscious even in its own awareness of being. This project was born in just a few hours, as if it were something that had always been with me, hidden in a corner of my mind, ready to emerge at the most unexpected moment. The project was funded by the Paulo Gustavo Law, through the Salcine call for projects in the game development category.
My experience has always been in cinema, video, and advertising, but my passion for graphic arts dates back to my school days: animation, illustration, screen composition, and a great love for comics, anime, games, and, of course, cinema as the primary art form. I studied cinema in Italy over a four-year period.
Combine everything I’ve mentioned, and you’ll have Brasil 99. My passion for cinema reflected in a game. In a world where human intellect has faded, and with it all the art and culture created up to that point, we have Luce. She lives in a world without culture, completely devoid of colors. Her clothes stand out against the background, her hair is dyed; she doesn’t even know what she’s doing, but she doesn’t fit into that dark world. Reality is broken, temporal pools appear and swallow everything in their path. With the help of a small amorphous companion, Luce will search for answers. More details to come…
